This five-day private journey combines Chongqing’s historic neighborhoods, hillside cityscape and river views with a full-day excursion to the Dazu rock-carving sites. Spend the first part of the trip exploring the old and modern layers of Chongqing, then travel privately to Dazu for Baodingshan, Beishan and the local rock-carvings museum before returning to the city.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Chongqing
Arrive in Chongqing and meet your driver for a private airport or railway-station transfer to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy free time in central Chongqing. The source itinerary places the hotel around the Jiefangbei area, making Bayi Road food street and Jiefangbei convenient for an independent evening walk.
Day 2 – Historic Chongqing & Yangtze River Views
Begin at Huguang Guild Hall, a historic complex connected with Chongqing’s migration history. Continue through Shibati Historic District and its steep old-city lanes.
After lunch on your own, take the Yangtze River Cableway for a one-way crossing and elevated river views. Explore Longmenhao Old Street on the south bank before finishing at Hongya Cave, where the riverside stilt-house architecture is especially atmospheric after dark.
Day 3 – Ciqikou, Liziba & Chongqing City Heritage
Visit Liziba to see Chongqing’s famous monorail passing directly through a residential building, then continue to Ciqikou Ancient Town for old streets, local snacks and traditional city atmosphere.
Later, visit Eling No. 2 Factory cultural district and Zhongshan 4th Road. Continue to Chongqing People’s Great Hall, People’s Square and the Three Gorges Museum to explore the city’s modern and historical identity.
Operational note: The Three Gorges Museum is closed on Mondays; the visit may be exterior-only or adjusted.
Day 4 – Dazu Rock Carvings
Drive privately from Chongqing to Dazu. Begin at Changzhou Ancient City before visiting Baodingshan Rock Carvings.
Continue to Beishan Rock Carvings, known for cliff-side Buddhist carvings, followed by Dazu Rock Carvings Museum for context on the development and preservation of the carving tradition.
Return to Chongqing in the late afternoon or early evening.

Day 5 – Departure from Chongqing
After breakfast, enjoy free time depending on your departure schedule. Your driver will transfer you to Chongqing airport or railway station.
